What happens after we book?
If you book directly through our calendar you will get a confirmation email, inside of the confirmation email is a link to our Studio Info page. This page has all the information you need for a successful rental like videos to find our studio, parking, bathrooms, key codes and more.
Does our rental come with a photographer?
Nope! You are just renting the studio space. If you need help finding a photographer please reach out and we can help match you with referrals.
Are there stairs to access your studio?
Yes.
There are two optional entries to our building.
OPTION 1:

OPTION 2:

this entry has less stairs and is easier if you have props to carry.
What is your cancellation policy?
Unfortunately we can’t be held responsible for your marketing especially for mini sessions. We can’t be held responsible for yourself, children or clients being sick.
Rebooking your day is still considered a cancellation as it counts for two days being booked and blocks us from being able to recoup the costs of your original spot.
Photography Guests may cancel their Booking until 7 days before the event start time and will receive a full refund of their Booking Price.
Photography Guests may cancel their Booking between 7 days and 24 hours before the event start time and receive a 50% refund of their Booking Price.
Photography Booking cancellations submitted less than 24 hours before the Event start time are not refundable.
REFUNDS: Any qualifiable refunds will incur a 10% fee of the total amount to cover all service, bank and credit card system processes. Example: If you rental was $100 you will receive $90 back.
Do you have paper backdrops?
Yes! You can view our updated paper back drop colors in our highlight on our instagram. Backdrops are NOT setup beforehand. Backdrop stand, clips, tape, and sandbags are included. Please schedule enough time for setup and breakdown. Use any color or multiple colors during your rental.
what is the best time for the best lighting?
We have East facing windows are on the top level of a historic building, so we get building lighting starting in the morning. If it’s a clear day, we get direct sun on one of our walls (lime wash) and diffused light on the other (brick).
The light stays bright and soft throughout the day until sunset. Please keep this in mind with daylight savings in the winter!
Do we get extra time for setup and breakdown?
Your setup and breakdown time needs to be included in your rental period. Example: If your mini sessions are from 1:00-3:00 we recommend scheduling a 30 minute buffer on each end so that you have extra time to setup and clean up. Your rental would look like 12:30-3:30.
Are dogs allowed?
Only service dogs are allowed.
What if we arrive early?
Outside of our studio doors is a small waiting area in the hallway. If there is a renter in before you please wait while they finish their session.
Do you have heating and cooling?
As we are in an old Tacoma building - it’s complicated! We are located in an old historical building in downtown Tacoma. During the winter months we have HVAC heating (yay!) but in the summer we have open windows and fan. (It doesn’t get too hot!)
Do you have a mattress?
We do! Our air mattress is available for an add-on and we include fitted linen sheets and 2 white flat sheets, blankets and two pillows.
Our mattress has a black foldable bed frame with a linen bed skirt to cover the frame.
The mattress is not inflated or set up before your arrival.
What are your floors like?
We have painted white floors and a large jute rug.
Is your studio private?
Yes! No one can see into the windows at all.
What is available for parking?
On Pacific and Commerce there is metered parking. It’s easiest to use the app Flowbird to easily pay for parking from you phone and to add more time if necessary. Saturdays and Sundays will always be a little busier. Thursday’s May-Oct there is a Farmers Market from 10:00 AM-2:00PM which may impact parking options on Broadway. Free parking on Sunday.
What if we go over our rental period?
Rentals are usually back to back, especially on weekends. Which means another photographer and guest is waiting after you. Please don’t go over your rental period as it infringes on the next guests studio time. Overtime rentals will be charged an hourly rate.
important safety:
WINDOWS: Our windows do not have screens, please take precaution when windows are open and watch children at all times.
MIRROR: Our mirror is a heavy lean mirror, please take precaution.
Are there bathrooms?
Yes, there is a cleaned and stocked bathroom just outside of our studio space for you to use.
